Today, Brandon Peters received an impressive endorsement from Panama City native, Civil Rights Leader, Morehouse Alumnus, and renowned Advocate against Youth Violence, the Honorable Mr. Jeremy Ponds.
Ponds, who currently serves in a variety of board positions in the Civil Rights movement, is a protégé of Kingian Non-Violence and a demonstrated youth leader locally through efforts like the LEAD Coalition of Bay County. Perhaps best known for his passion for economic justice and community based organizing, Ponds released the following statement:
“As a Bay County native and a strong advocate for labor, I highly endorse the candidacy of Brandon Peters for Congress. We must elect individuals that reflect equitable and progressive values for the elevation of wages, and to make sure our families have the economic security we deserve as Americans. My fellow Bay Countians, I urge you to join me in supporting Brandon Peters for Congress in Florida’s 2nd Congressional District!”
Brandon Peters released the following statement:
“This endorsement and others are the culmination of our grassroots based, volunteer led, progressive organizing. Mr. Ponds is a notable leader throughout the Southeast, and truly the nation. That he would honor our campaign with his personal endorsement really speaks to how active we are in every community throughout our District. The Civil Rights movement continues to this day to be a source of inspiration for economic justice throughout the world, and as such is a cornerstone of my policy positions – a fervent belief that all Americans should fully enjoy and reap the many benefits of our society.”
