Democratic Frontrunner Brandon Peters Endorsed by IBEW Local Union 1205

For Immediate Release: August 8, 2018

Today IBEW Local Union 1205, representing electrical workers across the Florida Panhandle and North Central Florida, fully endorsed Democratic Frontrunner Brandon Peters for Congress in Florida’s 2nd Congressional District.

IBEW Local Union 1205 Business Manager Lanny Mathis had the following the statement regarding the organization’s endorsement of Brandon Peters:
“Brandon Peters has shown himself to be a friend of Florida’s working families and that’s why our members, along with over a million other workers spanning various trades in Florida, chose to endorse Brandon now before the Democratic Primary. I know in Washington he’ll fight for retirement security, good jobs, infrastructure improvement, and work to ensure people from North and North Central Florida once again have a friend in Washington who cares about their pocketbooks and their quality of life.

“Since he was elected in 2016 Republican Congressman Neal Dunn has fully embraced the Republican assault on Florida’s working families, our jobs, and organized labor. Brandon is the best candidate to defeat Neal Dunn and restore a strong voice for working Floridians.”

Upon learning of the significant endorsement from the Electrical Workers, Brandon Peters made the following statement:
“I am working hard every day to be the voice of Florida’s working families in Washington, D.C. For far too long, elected officials have forgotten that they are supposed to represent people, not special interests. The good folks in the IBEW know me and understand that I have their best interests at heart as I fight for the middle class and our Florida values.”

Ahead of the August 28th Democratic primary Brandon Peters continues to campaign throughout the 2nd Congressional District. With the unified support of organized labor behind him the campaign is surging in the polls and has a clear path to victory in both August and November.

The Peters campaign has directly contacted more than 30,000 voters in the 2nd Congressional district. To learn more about Brandon and his Labor-backed campaign, including how to get involved in its grassroots efforts, visit
